ENVIRONMENT: The science of global warming

Sir John Houghton, formerly Director of the Meteorological Office and for some years chair of the International Panel on Climate Change, also a leading member of our sister network Christians in Science, provided clear and authoritative answers to the United States Senate in July 2005 to questions about the latest scientific evidence for global warming and its origin mostly in human activities adding carbon dioxide to the atmosphere.
He describes how the IPCC’s cautious early conclusions underestimated anthropogenic warming, how scientific counter-claims have been investigated and found wanting, and what issues remain and are under intensive study.
